What To Expect At A Bridal Expo

Bridal Expo - Chelsea de Castro

“PREMIER BRIDAL SHOW IN LONG BEACH” was advertised on a flyer I received in the mail and immediately caught my attention. Attending a bridal expo was always something I wanted to check out and this was my chance to go. I registered for the show that morning and told Ricardo to mark it on his calendar.

The whole week leading up to the bridal expo, Ricardo tried worming his way out of attending. I said, nice try but you’re still going! While waiting in line to get in, a girl in front of us turned to Ricardo and blurted, “I just want to applaud you for coming with your fiancée! Mine wouldn’t be caught dead at something like this.” I just looked at him and laughed because he was literally the only guy in line. We were surrounded in a sea of brides with their moms and bridesmaids. I’m lucky to have Ricardo who was willing to come (without too much of a struggle) and experience it with me.

What We Expected

Going into this we straight up didn’t have any expectations. Ricardo and I weren’t seriously looking to book vendors. We just wanted to see what all the hype was about. Even though we didn’t have an expectation of booking vendors, we were definitely open to possibilities of things we didn’t have yet. Some of those included: a photo booth, wedding ring bands, and a tux rental place. So we thought why not browse around and see what kind of local vendors they had to offer.

Who & What Was There

As soon as we walked into the event we saw a huge stage with a band setting up and runway on the left. There was a cash bar next to the entrance. And then a plethora of bridal expo booths straight ahead. I’ll be honest, my first thought was that it was a lot smaller than I had imagined. It was definitely not as big as the LA Car Show but there were still tons of vendors and things to see.

  • Event Planning
  • Florists
  • DJ’s
  • Photo Booths
  • Photography & Videography
  • Boudoir Shoots
  • Bakeries
  • Makeup and Hair
  • Vacation Packages
  • Wedding Gowns and Bridesmaid Dresses
  • Tuxedos
  • Wedding Rings
  • And Much More!

The booths we spent most of our time in were the photo booth companies, the tuxedo rentals, and the men’s wedding bands. Two thirds of the time spent at the bridal expo were for Ricardo. Who would have thought?!

The Big Show

One of the biggest things that I would expect to see at a bridal expo is a fashion show. The Premier Bridal Show did not disappoint. The show started with a live band who sang all the wedding favorites to get everyone excited. After the band finished its set, the fashion show began. The first to hit the stage were the men. They showcased a ton of great tuxedo/suit styles to fit everyone’s theme. Next were the girls who sashayed up and down with all of David’s Bridal bridesmaid dresses. Then the grand finale followed showcasing the newest David’s Bridal wedding dresses.

What We Left With

We left the bridal expo with a big bag of company cards, pricing lists, a gang of photo booth pics, prizes, and a fun experience.

I hope you all enjoyed coming along with us to our first Bridal Expo ever! Until next time!
